Taku Trails is a platform meant to connect the diverse community bound together by our shared love for the Taku watershed—those who care about, depend on, and find joy in this place. That includes First Nations, Tribes, commercial fishermen, sport fishermen, cabin owners, hunters, conservation organizations, elected officials, Juneau residents, and all lovers of wild places. Although the Taku remains one of the few fully intact and thriving watersheds on the planet, it bears a lasting scar: the long-abandoned Tulsequah Chief mine. Taku Trails exists to keep our community informed and engaged as we work together to preserve the health of this vital cultural, environmental, and economic resource.
We hope you enjoy Issue 1.
